Backwoods Lodge - Cantwell

Quiet and peaceful location in a forest. Friendly and accommodating staff. Well-equipped rooms with fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. Easy to find with good lighting. a highly recommended stay for anyone visiting the area.

The location was perfect for us as it was close to Denali National Park and right at the start of Denali Highway. We loved the grill that we could use and the hotel even informed us about the need to buy supplies in Anchorage since the only place nearby had limited options. The room was spacious and had a small kitchen area with all the necessary amenities. The staff was accommodating and check-in was quick and easy. we had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend this lodge.

our recent stay in cantwell was amazing, but our city break at backwoods lodge was even better. the room was clean, cute, and had everything we needed for a night away. the check-in process was easy and the staff was friendly. definitely recommend for families and friends.

Something felt off about our stay.

Large, comfortable, and clean room. Beautiful forest surroundings. Comfy bed and amenities like mini fridge and microwave. Excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. Excellent care, attention to detail, and service from the owners. Effective heating system and blackout curtains for a cozy and dark sleep environment. Convenient location near the highway

Felt like royalty, nothing too much trouble.

I recently stayed at a lodge in a classic Alaskan setting for one night on my way from Anchorage to Fairbanks. The room was spacious, with a queen bed and an extra twin bed. It also had a small kitchen counter with a sink, microwave, and refrigerator. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly. They even provided dishwashing liquid and a pack of microwave popcorn, which was a nice touch. The lodge was blissfully quiet, and I loved having the option to cook my own food with the full kitchen. It was the most comfortable and desirable spot compared to the other places I stayed at.

Would definitely recommend this hotel.
